Back-to-School OT Boot Camp is geared towards children who would benefit from a "tune-up" for handwriting readiness and efficient work habits before going back to school. Groups will be led by licensed occupational therapists, with goals individualized by age and grade level, in rotating stations. Stations will include handwriting review (including letter formation, accuracy on lines, pencil grasp and control, and sentence mechanics); sensory-motor adventures for regulation, core strength, and coordination; and fine-motor, visual-motor, and spatial games to consolidate foundational skills. Participants will also have opportunities to collaborate, problem solve, practice response inhibition and working memory strategies, and independence with routines.
