Screenings & Evaluations

• Available for children 3 years old and older
• Includes hearing screening
• Screens receptive language (understanding), expressive language (verbal expression), and articulation (production of speech sounds)
• Children who do not pass the screening will be referred for further assessment and/or intervention
• Following the screening clinicians will provide brief feedback reviewing screening results 
• Written summary with recommendations will be sent

• Available for children ages 3 years old through 2nd grade
• Includes hearing screening
• Screens receptive language (understanding), expressive language (verbal expression), and articulation (production of speech sounds) 
• In addition, we will screen print knowledge (child’s understanding of books, printed letters, and words) and phonological awareness (child’s understanding of the relationship between letters and speech sounds and how sounds can combine to form words)
• Following the screening clinicians will provide brief feedback reviewing screening results 
• Written summary with recommendations will be sent

• Available for children 4 years old and older

• Provides baseline information regarding phonological awareness, decoding, and reading comprehension abilities.  

• Based on these assessments, recommendations may be made for strategies to support your child’s reading development, the need for additional intervention and support, or further evaluation of language and processing skills.  

• Recommended for children who have displayed weakness or concerns in literacy development and are trying to determine if a comprehensive evaluation is warranted. 

• It is important to understand that this is not a complete evaluation, and a diagnosis will not be made based on this assessment alone. It will provide specific data regarding strengths and weaknesses in literacy skills.   

• Includes written report

• Parent feedback meeting may be scheduled for an additional fee of $75

• Available for infants, preschoolers, and school-aged children 

• Tailored to include any OT-related areas of concern

• Screens motor development (gross or fine motor skills), sensory processing, handwriting readiness (including visual motor integration, spatial awareness, and acquisition of letter formation, etc.) and adaptive skills

• Following the screening clinicians will provide brief feedback reviewing screening results 

• A written summary with recommendations is emailed shortly after the screening 

Cost: 

$250

• Voice and Fluency are assessed informally unless there are specific concerns in this area
• Articulation (speech sound production) is formally assessed
• Assesses foundational language skills such as receptive and expressive single-word vocabulary, higher-level/relational vocabulary, grammatical understanding and use, listening comprehension, oral formulation, language memory, and sentence structure.
• Depending on areas of concern from parents/ teachers, we may also administer other tests that look at specific areas of language weakness (problem-solving, reasoning, written language, pragmatic language, etc.)
• Includes comprehensive report and 2-hour parent feedback meeting

Speech & Language Evaluation (under age 3) - $850
Speech & Language Evaluation (age 3 and older) - $1,000

• All of the components of the Speech and Language Evaluation are included
• Assess phonological processing skills (the ability to manipulate, recall, and hold onto sounds), which is a foundational skill for reading
• Assess narrative language and written language skills
• Complete an academic-based assessment examining decoding/word attack, reading comprehension, spelling, reading fluency, and possibly math (if needed)
• If you or your child have participated in prior cognitive assessments or psychoeducational testing, we can diagnose a reading disability or language-based learning disability such as dyslexia. If you or your child have not participated in a prior cognitive assessment, our diagnosticians will rule out or identify red flags for language-based reading disabilities and may recommend further psychoeducational evaluation be completed. 
• Includes comprehensive report and 2-hour parent feedback meeting

Speech, Language & Literacy (under age 7) - $1,500
Speech, Language & Literacy (over age 7) - $2,000

• Consists of all of the components within the Speech and Language Evaluation
• Fluency ( the smoothness with which sounds, syllables, words, and phrases are joined together during speech) is formally assessed utilizing informal and formal speech samples as well as parent, teacher, and clinician observations
• Includes comprehensive report and 2-hour parent feedback meeting

Speech, Language & Fluency - $1,200

• All components of speech, language, and fluency evaluation
• Assess phonological processing skills (the ability to manipulate, recall, and hold onto sounds), which is a foundational skill for reading

• Recommended for children displaying concerns in academic development and who are seeking dual language and literacy intervention services. 

• Includes written report and parent feedback meeting.

Cost:

$500

• Recommended if a child has received prior occupational therapy but testing is older than a year or the child has recently participated in psychological evaluation and only needs supplemental testing for occupational therapy-related skills; or concern is mild and very specific (e.g., handwriting legibility).
• Fewer formal and informal measures are administered based on intake concerns and the amount of time allocated. Testing is more informal and in the context of a therapy session.

• Other areas of concern determined from questionnaires and interview (if any)
• Includes a clinical summary (shorter than a full evaluation report).
• Parent feedback happens informally in a call after the report is read, or during a consequent therapy session

Cost:

OT Diagnostic Evaluation- $450

• Recommended if a child has never received an evaluation and concerns cover more than one area of development (e.g., sensory processing and motor skills)
• Comprehensive battery of tests is administered.
• Areas that may be included in the assessment dependent upon need
  • Sensory Integration/Processing
  • Postural (Core) Strength and Control
  • Motor Coordination and Balance
  • Visual-Motor or Visual Perceptual Skills
